In this photo-shoot i followed the theme of white background used in Terry Richardson photography. I decided to have the model in the contrasting colours of black clothing also adding a gold chain. The models make-up is light with a abit of maskara and a red matching with her nail colour. Following the 'quirky' 'extreme' style, the poses i asked the model to do where similar to my idea sheet, some of the images she is swearing and some she isn't. Throughout the photoshoot, the models face expression is soft and smiley, this is so that the final images come across fun and playful rather than hard as Terry Richardson doesn't work in that style. I kept the same lighting so that the face is clear and no shadows.

This photo shoot also consisted of a white background following the theme. I made sure to used the same lighting to the best of my abilities so that the end results will be similar to the first photo shoot. This photo shoot was based on the image bellow by Terry Richardson.
I chose a model that had natural volumed hair to match Beyonce's and glasses that are similar. When it comes to make-up kept it natural with only a purple lipstick, since the image will be black and white the lipstick will become a similar shade to Terry Richardson image. When it comes to costume i decided to have the model in black top since it would only be a mid-shot

For this photoshoot i used a white background, the lighting was similar to the other photoshoot so that there is a consistancy. The model i chose was mixed race with brown long hair, costume consisted of a white vest as the shots were going to be from the waist up and gold chain like the inspiration image i have below. Before the photoshoot started i styled the models hair to a simlar look Rihanna has in the image Terry Richardson took, i put hair hair to one side and did one braid to make one side slicked down as Rihanna has one side shaved. Her make-up consisted of a touch of foundation, maskara and eyeliner. During the Photoshoot i had the idea sheet i had done with me as a guide for the model. Showing her the images help alot as it didnt wait time trying to explain what i wanted her to do she had an image there to copy, i made her do all of the poses so that i had a variety of shots.

The images on the left are the inspiration of this photo shoot, as you can see in the slideshow of images above i tried to imitate the clothing and jewelry and poses of Rihanna to the best of my abilities. |

This photo shoot followed the them of extreme with relation to costume and props. With a white background the model is wearing a black bandu with her bra straps falling off her shoulder giving the image the messy look, her red lipstick is smudged and she is holding a cigarette. Looking at some of the images by Terry Richardson, i identitfied that sometimes the model will have a prop e.g. ciggerettes and so i wanted to experiement with this. Forst i used an non lit real ciggerrett as the photoshoot took place on school grounds. when looking at the images, i saw that it looked to fake so i looked throught the department props and so a ciggerret that was made to look like it was lit. this helped the image become more real. The background being white would become a problem when it came to editing and adding in the white smoke. This photoshoot had imspired me for my next unit of coursework to explore.

Editing
When it came to editing i decided to also make it a back and white image so that smoke would be more visable. After desaturating the image i played around with the the levels and curves on photoshop of the image to get the shadowing to show more. As im familiure with the model, i knew what features when editing should be enhance, for example, her eyes where lightined with the dodge tool. One problem i faced was the some of the dark patches on her face that made it look uneven.

Photoshoot 1
For this photo shoot I had my model in only a denim coat, her make-up consisted of fake eyelashes and a maroon lipstick and I had also highlighted her eyebrows. Since I was working with smoke this was a home photo-shoot done on a plain white wall. for lighting I used the room lighting along with a bright lamp with a white bulb. I places the lap directly in front of the model since the focus of the image is the smoke and the models face. The composition of the images is mid-shot positioned landscape. What i found most difficult about the photo-shoot is capturing the smoke at the right moment. I realised that i would get the best shots when the smoke was clouded together creating shapes. For the next photo-shoot I am going to make sure that I research before hand of how to capture smoke in terms of timing and composition.
Experimentations
Photoshoot 2

With this photo-shoot the model is dressed in a simple black hoodie with white strings. As for my first photo-shoot the model is wearing make-up, for this one I decided to go with minimal make-up that consists of only lipstick. This was a home photo-shoot therefore I used the same lighting and composition of the image. Before the photo-shoot I tried to research any techniques I could used to help me capture the the smoke the right time, by switching the camera setting to burst shots i was able to get a pictures that captures the right time the smoke is formed together.

Experimentation
photoshoot 3
For this photoshoot, i chose a black background different to my previous shoots of a white background and two sources of lighting. The model is dressed in a grey turtle-neck top, a fur white/grey coat and a gold chain. In terms of make-up she only has a red lipstick which contrasts well with the white smoke. For the smoke i used a shi-sha pen as the shoot took indoors.
When it came to editing i wanted to do something different compared to my previous shoots. I looked online for ispiration and came across the image on the right. To achieve this i made a new layer , using the brush tool i went over the smoke that hahd a back background and not the face and when through the different filter until i got to overlay which i was most suitable. |

For this smoke shoot i wanted to experiement with compositioning. With the previous shoot, the shot was from the waist up and i was angeld so that i was took slightly above her and so with this shoot i was much closer the model so the sucbject which was her face and the smoke filled the frame. Like previously i used a black background and the lighting was so it was directly in front of the mode.
